Gaming Consoles on the Lindenwood University Dorm Network
Summary:
This document details what consoles are allowed on the network, as well as the ports opened
for gaming consoles.
Description:
By default, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo gaming consoles are allowed on the netwrok for gaming only.
Browsing Internet from the consoles are blocked.
Consoles must be plugged directly into the enternet jack. Using routers will not work, and home switches have
showen to be problematic.
If the use of gaming consoles becomes abused, or if there is execssive bandwidth consumed by a console, IT Services will have no choice but to not support gaming consoles on the network. In addition, the abuser(s) will have their Internet Connection privileges revoked for the entirety of the semester.
