Lindenwood University Director of First-Year Programs Shane Williamson, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Pernell Witherspoon, Ph.D., and select members of the Black Student Union will attend Grammy award -winning artist Nelly’s fifth annual Black and White Ball on Sunday, Dec. 19, at the Chase Park Plaza hotel in downtown St. Louis.

The Lindenwood University Athletic Department was honored Tuesday with a Special Achievement Award at the second annual St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame Enshrinement dinner at the Millenium Hotel downtown. The athletic department was recognized for winning six national championships during the 2009-10 school year.

The Lindenwood University Department of Theatre will continue its 2010-11 season with the perennial holiday favorite “A Christmas Carol”; performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 18-20 and Dec. 2-4.

Belleville Archive

Richard Hunsaker makes a return to the Lindenwood University-Belleville Auditorium stage, his former “second home,” as Sidney Bruhl in the comedy-thriller "Deathtrap," Nov. 4-7 and 11-14, 2010. Show times are at 7:30 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sundays at the Belleville campus, located at 2600 W. Main Street in Belleville, Ill.

Award-winning movie, television, and stage actor Stacy Keach will come to Lindenwood University for events at 1 and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14, in the university’s Young Hall Movie Theater. Both events will include a showing of the 1972 film "Fat City." Directed by Jon Huston the acclaimed film about two boxers in different stages of their careers includes Keach’s first starring role. The events are presented by Cinema St. Louis.

Lindenwood University’s music program will offer its fall orchestra, jazz, and choral concerts at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 4, 5, and 6, respectively, in the university’s 1,200-seat Bezemes Family Theater. Admission to all three concerts is free and open to the public.

Lindenwood University’s 2010 Homecoming and Reunion, Oct. 15-16, was one of the largest and most successful in school history. Attendance was higher than ever before, with more than 1,300 alumni, parents, and friends of the University taking part in a wide range of events throughout the weekend.

More than 200 people turned out for a ribbon cutting/grand opening ceremony at Lindenwood University’s expanded and renovated Harmon Hall. Held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, the ceremony officially opened the new home of the Lindenwood School of Business and Entrepreneurship.
