The Lindenwood School of Education celebrated its centennial with a series of events on Nov. 7-8. The events included the planting of a new Lindenwood tree, the burial of a time capsule on campus, and the unveiling of the Centennial Wall and the “Future-Ready Classroom,” both located in Roemer Hall.
The Economic Education Center (EEC), a partnership of the Lindenwood University School of Education and the Hammond Institute for Free Enterprise in the Plaster School of Business & Entrepreneurship, officially launched on Oct. 9, 2018, with a celebration held in the third floor atrium of the Library and Academic Resources Center at Lindenwood University.

KMOV TV aired a story Oct. 2 about a new program called Linden Teach, in which Lindenwood education students serve as substitute teachers in the Orchard Farm School District to address a reported shortage of substitute teachers.
Jennifer Doermer (’11), Lindenwood graduate and music teacher at Mullanphy Elementary in St. Louis’ Shaw neighborhood, was featured in a segment on KSDK-TV’s Today in St. Louis show. Doermer, who admits in the segment to spending her own money on supplies for her classroom, was surprised when the show donated a variety of musical instruments for use by her students in class.
Susan “Sue” Royals was announced as the 2018 Lindenwood University adjunct instructor of the year at the Adjunct Instructor Conference on Aug. 11 in the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts.
The Lindenwood University School of Education hosted Triad Training for fall 2018 for all teacher candidates, cooperating teachers, and Lindenwood supervisors on Aug. 9, 2018, in Harmon Hall.

Dr. Beth Kania-Gosche, associate dean of education at Lindenwood University and president elect of the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, was quoted in a St. Louis Post-Dispatch article on a rating program for teacher education programs.
The St. Louis Business Journal featured a piece on the recently announced dean of the School of Education, Dr. Anthony Scheffler, who will replace Interim Dean Joyce Piveral when he assumed the post on May 1.
