Lindenwood Dedicates Lou Brock Sports Complex

A crowd nearly 1,000 strong helped dedicate Lindenwood's Lou Brock Sports Complex Tuesday afternoon.

Brock, the Cardinals legend and a member of Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame, threw out the first pitch of Lindenwood's baseball game with Missouri Baptist, and the Lady Lions' softball game with MidAmerica Nazarene.

Players from all participating schools stood on the baselines to receive Brock and shake his hand. Brock signed numerous autographs, too.

In his speech, Brock thanked Lindenwood President Dennis Spellmann for naming the complex in his honor. Brock's wife, the Rev. Jackie Brock, a member of the Lindenwood University board of directors, handled the invocation.

Lindenwood's baseball team, 32-9 on the season, defeated Missouri Baptist 7-3. The Lady Lions lost of MidAmerica Nazarene 7-3.
