Biographical Information

Pamela Grooms has been an active music educator since 1986. She presently serves as professor of choral music education, professor of piano, and music director for all musical theatre productions at Lindenwood University. This includes directing the premiere a cappella ensemble Voices Only. Prior to her arrival at Lindenwood, Grooms was director of choirs at Francis Howell North High School (1995-2007) and music teacher leader for the Francis Howell School District (2004-2006). Her years of K-12 experience also include AP Music Theory, all-school musicals and musical revues, elementary music, and adaptive music for special education students. The positive impact Grooms has on student achievement is evident by an extensive list of noteworthy accomplishments, including countless superior performance ratings and multiple all-district and all-state choir members.

A highly accomplished pianist, professor Grooms has taught private piano for decades and accompanied choirs from around the world. She has also served as the pianist for the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra since 1990. Grooms is currently a member of the Music Educators National Conference, the Missouri Music Educators Association, and the American Choral Directors Association. She is also the faculty advisor for Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity and the student chapter of ACDA at Lindenwood.
