Professional educators have come to realize that improving their practice is a rewarding mechanism to personal fulfillment and self-actualization. The Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Teacher Leadership program at Lindenwood University is designed to provide you with the skills to perform directed analysis of curriculum and the efficacy of instructional practices and strategies; acquisition of research based high-leverage instructional improvement techniques that emphasizes targeted deficits in acquired student skills; and an application process that not only develops individual’s skills but also trains the practitioner through organizational development, group dynamics, and professional collaboration to enlarge the instructional improvement arena for teachers interested in serving in leadership roles as department chairs, coaches, mentors, curriculum and instruction leaders, or other leadership positions as defined by the district. This is not a principal certification program.
The Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Teacher Leadership program has been developed around three principle core clusters: foundations, instructional improvement, and application. Each cluster has been designed to fulfill a specific role of a quality instructional leader.
