The Literary Journal: Fiction & Essay

Course Description:
Students in this journal editing class will read, discuss, and vote on selected fiction and essay submissions to issue 9 of The Lindenwood Review literary journal. Students will also study and practice the craft of flash nonfiction and will vote for the winner and honorable mentions in this issue's Flash Nonfiction Contest. Other coursework includes proofreading accepted pieces, researching journals for personal submissions, and class discussions on topics such as cover letters and bios, ordering pieces in the journal, and photographs for the cover and section headers. To become familiar with The Lindenwood Review, visit our website. Students will receive one complimentary copy of issue 9 and will be listed as editorial assistants in The Lindenwood Review. This credit can be added to your CV/resume.
