The Literary Journal:
Prose Poetry & Creative Nonfiction

Instructor: Beth Mead

Class Type: Literary Journal Editing

Course Description: Students in this journal editing class will read, discuss, and vote on selected submissions to issue 10 of The Lindenwood Review literary journal: prose poetry (poems in block format) and creative nonfiction (may include personal essays, lyric essays, and flash nonfiction). Other coursework includes proofreading accepted pieces, researching journals for personal submissions, and class discussions on topics such as cover letters/bios and ordering pieces in the journal. Become familiar with The Lindenwood Review by visiting our website. Students will receive one complimentary copy of issue 10 and will be listed as editorial assistants in The Lindenwood Review. This credit can be added to your CV/resume.

Textbooks: Students will receive complimentary copies of previous issues of The Lindenwood Review.
