Italy - 01

Studio Art, Art History, Graphic Design, and other courses

Semester: Fall and Spring

Program Director: Dr. James L. Hutson

Program Description: Students enroll in 15 hours of studio art, art history and general education classes after consulting with the academic advisor and program director. Some courses will fulfill major or minor requirements and some are electives. Course difficulty ranges from 10000- to 30000-level.

Number of Credits: 15

Academic Prerequisites: Junior standing or permission of department

What Does the Program Include: 15 hours of course credit (which includes all required class field trips and museum entrance fees, materials fees for all studio classes, and open drawing classes), private room for sleeping and studying with a shared kitchen and bathroom, ion fee, seven-day-per-week access to SACI’s fully equipped studios, dark rooms, labs, library, and gardens; and administrative and email fees.

Supplemental Information: Located in Florence, the program offered through Studio Art Centers International (SACI) offers the wealth of art and history that only Italy can offer. With the collections of the Accademia and the Uffizi at students’ disposal, and living under the dome of the Duomo, Lindenwood students can take advantage of the treasures of Tuscany while continuing on their educational track.
