Online Appointments

Online Appointments

Consultations through chat, video, and/or audio are available for students who are unable to attend a face-to-face meeting via the WCOnline system. Appointments can be made with Consultants who have the “online” label on the Writing Center schedule and follow the same general guidelines and services offered as a standard consultation. However, some restrictions do apply due to the limitations of the program. Please adhere to the following guidelines when making your appointment.

Use the Online live consultation program if and only if:

  • Your assignment is 5 pages or fewer
  • Your main concern regards grammar or syntax
  • You do not need assistance with format

If these do not apply but you still need assistance, please email your Consultant upon making the appointment, attaching your paper to your message. We are able to revise and consult asynchronously through email if you find that method acceptable. However, please keep in mind that more time may be needed due to the shift in method, with potentially up to a two-business day turnaround depending on the length of the assignment at hand and what revisions need to be made. We advise that you keep this turnaround time in mind if you are booking your appointment close to the assignment’s due date.

If you are unable to meet with one of our Consultants either online or face-to-face, Lindenwood has partnered with tutor.com to provide educational services to the students outside of standard hours. Please refer to Student Advising and Support Services (SASS) for more information.
