Course Description

We will study and practice the craft of both flash fiction and nonfiction writing, using our textbooks as a guide for our exploration of short prose forms. Beginning with flash fiction, we will examine the importance of distilling plot and scene into singular moments. These skills will then inform our foray into flash nonfiction, where we will discuss the importance of using small details as way into larger themes. Coursework will also include writing and discussing flash pieces for workshop.
