Lindenwood University-Belleville has scheduled six presenters during February as part of its 2009-2010 speaker series. They include the president of an electric company, a Lindenwood professor, a police deputy, an art show director, and two forensic experts.

Lindenwood University’s Belleville campus is having another growth spurt by adding three new degrees and eight new areas of specialization to its daytime undergraduate offerings beginning in the fall of 2010.

The first scheduled presenters include a health expert, a member of the law enforcement community, a financial advisor, a refugee assistance volunteer, and a forensic psychologist.

Lindenwood University-Belleville will host free information sessions about its accelerated evening degree programs through the Lindenwood College for Individualized Education (LCIE). Upcoming sessions are scheduled to take place from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12; from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14; from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20; from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27; and from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, in the main campus building.

Lindenwood University-Belleville is currently registering students for accelerated evening degree programs during the winter quarter term. Lindenwood College for Individualized Education (LCIE) courses will begin the week of January 4 for continuing undergraduate students, and on Saturday, Jan. 9, for new and graduate students.

Nearly 70 community leaders and friends of Lindenwood University attended the second annual Fall Harvest Luncheon on November 18 in the Lindenwood Auditorium. Proceeds from the event will help fund the construction of Lindenwood’s new Welcome Center, which will feature a lobby area, restrooms, small café, and exhibition and reception space.

Lindenwood University-Belleville will present a holiday concert performance by the United States Air Force Band of Mid-American at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, in the school’s auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Lindenwood University-Belleville will host the workshop, “Strengths-Based Therapy with Adolescents and Families: Effective, Time-Sensitive Strategies,” from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15. Sponsored by Lindenwood’s Professional and School Counseling Continuing Education Program, the address will be delivered by Bob Bertolino, Ph.D., assistant professor of rehabilitation counseling at Maryville University in St. Louis.
