Lindenwood University Switching to Virtual Classes until March 30

In light of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, Lindenwood University has determined it will switch entirely to virtual classes from March 13 to 29 for all class sessions at all locations. Residential students, who are on spring break through March 15, are strongly encouraged not to return to campus if possible.

Campus leadership stresses that there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Lindenwood students, faculty, or staff. This action is designed to reduce the likelihood of the virus’ spread by decreasing the density of population on Lindenwood’s campuses in St. Charles, Mo., and Belleville, Ill.

Campus events during this period have been cancelled or postponed, including performances at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts. On-campus Lindenwood University athletic events will continue without outside spectators. Dining facilities will be available for take-out meals only, and hours to campus facilities will be limited. University-sponsored travel that is not university-critical will also be suspended during this period.

Details about these adjustments are available at www.lindenwood.edu/belleville/student-life/coronavirus/, along with lists of frequently-asked questions regarding specific changes to normal university operations.

“Lindenwood’s number one priority is the health and well-being of our students, the campus community, and the community as a whole,” said Lindenwood President John Porter. “We feel this move is the responsible course of action to limit the spread of this virus.”

Porter said that the university will re-assess the situation regarding changes or extensions beyond March 30.
