The office of the Student Counseling and Resource Center (SCRC) is committed to helping students reach their highest academic and personal potential. Combining academic, personal and group counseling, the SCRC offers a holistic approach to counseling students in a host of interrelated fields. Our goal is to help students fulfill their educational goals with minimal distractions. We realize that students might encounter difficult situations that could impede their academic, personal, and social progress. Our services are designed to help students address their concerns and increase their self-awareness, while empowering them to manage challenging areas in their lives.
Our counselors and counseling interns assist students in addressing psychological and adjustment issues (i.e., depression, anxiety, and relationships) and problems or issues including stress/time management that can negatively impact academic performance, student retention, graduation rates, and quality of life. The SCRC works collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to create and maintain a campus environment that encourages and supports psychological well-being.
