FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7 | 8:00 PM PLATINUM $90 ORCHESTRA $70 PARTERRE $60 BALCONY $50 Two of America’s most prolific songwriters of any generation—Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt—will blend their unique musical artistry at the Scheidegger Center. Both performers deliver songs that speak to the soul with lyrics filled with equal parts joy and pain. In the intimate Lindenwood Theater, you’ll hear Lovett and Hiatt converse about their music, discuss the inspiration behind songs, and share with the audience the genuine affection and admiration each holds for the other as they riff, cajole, and entertain not only those listening, but themselves as well. This is a rare evening in musical history and not to be missed! A singer, composer, and actor, Lyle Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the Texas-based musician fuses elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel, and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers. Among his many accolades, besides the four Grammy Awards, he was given the Americana Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award and was named Texas State Musician. A master lyricist and satirical storyteller, John Hiatt delivers songs filled with tales of redemption, relationships, and surrendering on his own terms. His lyrics and melodies have graced more than 20 studio albums, have been recorded by Bob Dylan, B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, and scores of others, and have earned him a place in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and a lifetime achievement in songwriting designation from the Americana Music Association. 2 2 0 2 2 - 2 0 2 3 T O U R I N G S E R I E S L U B o x O f f i c e . c o m | 6 3 6 . 9 49 . 4 4 3 3 3
