Applying for Missouri Certification with DESE

Follow the steps below for:

• All Teacher certification areas
• Special Reading K-12
• Library Media K-12

1. Initial Professional Certificate (Teacher)
2. Log into your account
3. Click EDUCATOR CERTIFICATION SYSTEM
4. Applications > Initial Professional
5. Answer the Professional Conduct Questions
6. Be sure to choose LU in the drop down
7. Click SUBMIT TO INSTITUTION
8. Click Ok (click this only once) - Your application has been submitted!

Follow the steps below to apply for:

• School Counselor K-12
• School Psychological Examiner K-12

1. Initial Student Services Certificate
2. Log into your account
3. Click EDUCATOR CERTIFICATION SYSTEM
4. Applications > Initial Student Services
5. Answer the Professional Conduct Questions
6. Be sure to choose LU in the drop down
7. Click SUBMIT TO INSTITUTION
