She has been recognized by the Missouri Association of Elementary Principals as an outstanding principal in southwest Missouri. During her tenure at Aurora, she also served as Parents as Teachers director and transportation director. 2020s Marlin J. Ivy ’20 is the director of communications and engagement for the Jefferson County Public Library System in Jefferson County, Colorado; the first African American chosen for this position in the system’s history. He attended Lindenwood College in 1990 but left two years later to serve the country in the Persian Gulf War supporting operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the United States Air Force. He came back under the LCIE program and finished his last class in 2020 and attained his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. He went on to obtain his master’s in public policy and urban leadership from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2022. Jordan Deeken ’22 finished the season with the St. Louis Blues where he served as Chris Kerber and Joey Vitale’s booth assistant intern. Deeken started working as a 101 ESPN board operator with Hubbard Radio. SPECIAL RECOGNITION At a special ceremony on October 13, Lindenwood University Board Member Jerry Scheidegger was presented with an honorary doctoral degree. Born and raised in St. Charles, Scheidegger has spent years dedicated to serving others and giving to the community in impactful ways. “Jerry Scheidegger is a model of service, philanthropy, and community leadership. He gives generously to others and betters our society for future generations,” Lindenwood President Dr. John Porter said. “Today, we honor your service, philanthropy, and social innovation in the same building that bears your name.
