We offer innovative academic and creative programs, providing immersive learning experiences to prepare students for every future. In addition to focusing on the rigor necessary for our majors, CAH equips all university students with power skills—critical thinking, creativity, leadership, effective communication, and empathy. These power skills are necessary, durable, and transferable, helping students adapt to an ever-changing world, lead on a global stage, and prepare them for career pathways that may not exist yet. CAH students engage with world-class scholars, writers, designers, and visual and performing artists in state-of- the-art facilities (professional theatre and black box, LUTV, KCLC, makerspace, digital humanities hub, podcast booths, and media and gaming lab) that allow them to hone and showcase their skills and talents. CAH’s diverse curriculum can even include building augmented reality experiences from the pyramids in Egypt to the Globe Theatre in London. Our faculty have been awarded prestigious grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Missouri Humanities Council, T-Rex GeoSeed for GIS, and US Holocaust Memorial. CAH programs are regularly named best in Game Design, Art History, MFA, Fashion Design, Philosophy, and MPA. CAH also leads university-wide initiatives: CAH headed a National Humanities Alliance advocacy group, led the university chapter to the Alpha Chi Honor Society national championship, and reinvigorated Lindenwood’s honors program to engage the university’s most gifted students. CAH students consistently demonstrate the value and adaptability of power skills. They go on to graduate programs around the world—Belgium, Sweden, Japan, and Great Britain—and prestigious American universities. They also earn dream jobs as vice presidents, museum curators, game designers, teachers, data analysts, lawyers, writers, dancers, actors, filmmakers, directors, sound mixers, musicians, and journalists. CAH builds programs to engage students with adaptable skills, as they work to change the world— and do us proud. The College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) is recognizing and responding to the rapid developments of need within the fields of education and human services and is navigating an evolution of significant change. The COEHS has long stood as a leader in the field, dedicated to providing our learners a rigorous, high-quality experience and preparing our candidates with the essential skills they need to serve their chosen professions of teaching, educational leadership, counseling, and social work. The College of Education and Human Services continues that leadership as we evolve to meet the needs of today’s learners and take on the challenges of addressing the concerns of the national teacher shortage, and projected shortage of mental health providers. COEHS is actively engaged in transforming our degrees and programs to make education more financially accessible and logistically sustainable for learners while maintaining the highest accreditation and certification standards. At the heart of our advancements is our Center for Innovation & Insight. The Center for Innovation & Insight is driving transformational change in how we leverage research, engage with our stakeholders and partner with the communities of our professions. Our Center for Innovation & Insight has been instrumental in creating innovative partnerships such as our new partnership with STRIDE and Missouri Virtual Academy, and Montessori schools, and in championing multiple research projects to support informed decision making and creating a voice in the field of research.
