10 SPRING 2025 EDITION THE LINDENWOOD LINDENWOOD NEWS STORIES ORCHESTRA PARTNERS WITH ST. LOUIS BLUES Under the direction of Dr. Sebastian Buhts, the orchestra was recruited to perform in a video for the St. Louis Blues. The video played at every home game on the Blues’ jumbotron for the 2024-25 season. FUTURISTIC SHOPPING AT LION’S PRIDE MARKET Students arriving to campus in Fall 2024 were greeted with a new and unique dining option in Spellmann Center.The new Lion’s Pride Market makes Lindenwood one of four campuses nationwide to feature a Sodexo Eat>Now store. The convenience-style store is powered by Amazon Web Services, Inc. and is completely contactless. Students enter by tapping their payment card and can choose from a variety of snacks, drinks, toiletries, and grocery items. When they are finished, customers simply walk out. Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology uses AI to determine the purchased items, allowing for a fast and convenient process for students on-the-go. STUDENT INVOLVEMENT INTRODUCES MANE CONNECTION There is a new digital hub for students looking to be active on campus. Launched for the fall semester, Mane Connection allows students to view and join organizations and register for events that are available on campus. Students can receive real time recommendations and alerts directly through the platform. Mane Connection has already become the go-to method for students to stay informed about Greek Life, volunteer opportunities, and all the events that contribute to a lifetime of memories. COMMUNICATIONS STUDENTS LAUNCH ROAR NETWORK Communications students are getting real experience while keeping the campus community informed. The ROAR Network’s weekly news updates, sports reports, and awareness pieces put students in the environment of a professional news network. The weekly updates on YouTube feature a revolving cast of students, many of whom are receiving their first on-camera experience. Weekly interviews are conducted with faculty and staff who provide insight into important issues for the Lindenwood community. As the channel continues to grow, the Roar Network seeks to become a Lindenwood fixture while fulfilling the communications program’s promise of providing experiential learning to students.
