27 THE LINDENWOOD SPRING 2025 EDITION TRANSFORMING BUTLER LIBRARY So many stories. So many experiences. So many impacted. The James Butler Library is a beloved building on the Lindenwood University campus. Since its construction in 1929, countless students, faculty, and friends have walked the halls and the bookshelves of this iconic facility. It has been a cornerstone of learning for many generations. In order to continue Lindenwood’s trajectory as the next great learner-centric university and after conferring with many alumni and partners, we launched a campaign to renovate this historic building. This campaign seeks to ensure the next century of impact for the Butler Library. Our plans are to restore and modernize Butler Library with dynamic amenities, making it an attractive event venue for students, alumni, faculty, and our partners. We have benefited from the generosity of more than 100 Lindenwood supporters. We are especially grateful that the William T. Kemper Foundation made a leadership commitment to advance this project. Thus far, nearly $1 million has been raised for the Butler Library renovation. However, we have a distance to go to reach our $2.2 million campaign goal to create a state-of-the-art event venue. Our call to action is to invite you to consider making an investment in this important project. You can leave an important legacy by participating in this future-shaping campaign. As an expression of our donors, gifts of $2,500 or more will be recognized with a commemorative, personalized brick to be placed in the walkway leading to Butler Library upon completion of the project.
