They are flexible and can include a specific dollar amount or percentage of estate. There may also be tax benefits. IRA (RMD) – If you are 70½ or older, you can give any amount up to $108,000 in 2025 from your IRA directly to Lindenwood. For those 73 or older, you can use this donation to satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD). Life Insurance – You may designate Lindenwood as a beneficiary of your policy. Another way to use life insurance is to leave your assets, which can be taxable for your family/ friends upon inheritance, to Lindenwood within your estate plan. Your life insurance can then be used for your family/ friends to replace the donated assets (no taxes to life insurance beneficiary). Charitable Gift Annuity – Now is the time to consider a charitable gift annuity. Payout rates can be as high as 10.1% (age dependent) plus you can now fund your gift through your IRA. Heritage The Sibley Heritage Society honors those whose commitment to Lindenwood ensures a bright future for generations to come. More than 300 donors are members of the Sibley Heritage Society and have committed a planned gift to Lindenwood’s future. WAYS TO GIVE was a man of many talents, boundless curiosity, and an unwavering appreciation for the arts and the world around him. A lifelong learner, Terence could often be found with a book in hand or exploring the shelves of his local library. His love of reading was matched only by his passion for music. Terence served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy, carrying forward a deep sense of duty and honor throughout his life. Upon his passing in December 2025, Terence left a bequest to Lindenwood University and in recognition of his gift, the Sitwell Event Center will be named in the Butler Library renovation, in his honor.
