Psi Chi: The International Honor Society in Psychology

College of Science, Technology, and Health NAVIGATION

The mission of Psi Chi is to produce well-educated, ethical, and socially responsible members committed to contributing to the science and profession of psychology and to society in general. Recently, Psi Chi won the 2020-2021 Outstanding Academic Organization Award.

Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology, was founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology.

Twice per year the psychology faculty of Lindenwood University nominate psychology majors eligible for Psi Chi membership (those with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA/3.3 in the major, and 36 credits/9 in the major), and issues invitations to join the local chapter. New members should contact Dr. Colleen Biri to complete the application process. Meetings are held in Young Hall (the home of the psychology faculty).

There is a one-time fee of $55 which pays for lifetime Psi Chi membership, a membership certificate, and a membership card. Members receive timely and helpful publications regarding career preparation steps, undergraduate contributions to research, and the publishing and review process. Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) and is affiliate of the Association for Psychological Science (APS).
