HOMECOMING 2017 ST. CHARLES CAMPUS 12 Homecoming and Reunion 2017-Welcome to the Jungle is right around the corner! Online registration is open until October 15 at homecoming. Join your form er classmates, faculty, staff, and coaches for a week full of fun, networking, and reminiscing. No matter which residence hall you called home, no matter where you spent your time studying and socializing, no matter which sport you played, come back home this fall to Lindenwood. You are always welcome here. The 50-year honored class is the class of 1967, which posed for that famous picture at the alumnae gate. The class of 1992, whose senior year Homecoming theme was also “Welcome to the Jungle,” will celebrate its 25-year reunion, and, the class of 2007 will celebrate its 10-year reunion. A variety of fun events and activities are planned with something for everyone. Events Schedule Subject to Change Monday, October 9- Sunday, October 14, 2017 Organization Homecoming Banner Competition. 2017 Homecoming “Welcome to the Jungle” banners will be displayed in Evans Commons and Spellmann Center for the entire week. Tuesday, October 10, 2017 9-11 p.m. / Movie Night under the Stars, Evans Commons Lawn. Come see the magic of Jumanji ; when two kids find and play a magical jungle board game, they release a man trapped inside it for decades, along with a host of dangers that can only be stopped by finishing the game. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 5-7 p.m. / Homecoming Organization Fair, Evans Commons Courts. Join Student Involvement on the Evans Commons Courts for our Homecoming Organization Fair! Meet and learn about a wide variety of student organizations and see all the involvement opportunities Lindenwood has to offer! 5-7 p.m. / Homecoming Escape Room, Evans Commons, Group Exercise Room . Take part in a challenging escape room adventure game where players must work together to decipher clues, crack codes, solve puzzles, and escape before time runs out! 8-10 p.m. / Inaugural Homecoming & Alumni Bonfire, Pfremmer Pond. Music, s’mores, and Homecoming memories await the inaugural Homecoming Bonfire, hosted by Residential Life. Thursday, October 12, 2017 7-10 p.m. / Homecoming Lip Sync/ Pep Rally, Hyland Arena. Come join us for a night of entertainment as our students put on a wild lip sync competition and pep rally, including appearances from some of our fall sports teams and performances by the Golden Lion Marching Band and the Spirit Squad. Friday, October 13, 2017 4-7 p.m. / Homecoming and Reunion Registration Table, Library and Academic Resources Center (LARC) Main Entrance. 50-, 25-, and 10-year reunion alumni check in. All pre-registration packets can be picked up at this location. 4-5 p.m. / Professors Emeriti and 50-Year Reunion Reception, The Grove. Visit with your former classmates and professors and reminisce on old times in Lindenwood’s newest building. 5-7 p.m. / Alumni Reception & Progressive Tours of the LARC. Tour the new Library and Academic Resources Center and discover all of the new and exciting features of the LARC. 6 p.m. / 50-Year Reunion Alumni Dinner, Prasino. The class of 1967 will celebrate with a dinner at Prasino in the Streets of St. Charles. 7-9 p.m. / Greek Life Yard Show LUCC, Auditorium. Come watch as members of our multicultural Greek organizations show you how it’s done. Watch as they step dance and stroll and demonstrate how Lions bring it to the yard! 7-9 p.m. / Men’s and Women’s Soccer Alumni Reunion, Alumni Plaza–Spellmann Center End Zone. Join soccer alumni as they reminisce and cheer the Lady Lions on to victory. 7 p.m. / Women’s Soccer at Hunter Stadium. The Lady Lions will take on the Missouri S&T Miners. 9-11 p.m. / Streets of Lindenwood Party on John Weber Drive, Hunter Stadium Entrance. Students and alumni are invited to kick off the Homecoming weekend with the music of Serapis, one of St. Louis’ premier bands for authentic rock music since 1982. Enjoy fire pits, a coffee bar, and snacks. Saturday, October 14, 2017 9-10 a.m. / Lindenwood Alumni Association General Meeting, Library and Academic Resources Center. Visit with fellow alumni and attend the annual alumni association meeting. President Michael Shonrock will deliver a state-of-the-university address, the Alumni Association president will offer an alumni news update, and the 1967 50-year reunion class agents will share their memories. 9-11 a.m. / Alumni Baseball Game, Lou Brock Complex. Attention all baseball alumni! The first pitch will be thrown at 9 a.m. sharp. Don’t miss out on the rematch from the April reunion game. Baseball families will have a front row seat for the Welcome to the Jungle parade that will pass by the Lou Brock complex after the game. 10 a.m.-12 p.m. / Men’s Alumni Rugby Game, Field at the Lindenwood Track. The men’s rugby alumni will meet for a friendly scrimmage and then proceed to the tailgate area for the Homecoming Barbecue and Street Party. 10:30-11:30 a.m. / Homecoming & Alumni Parade, Lindenwood Campus. Please help us recognize and celebrate our alumni, athletes, student organizations, local businesses and partners, and many others at our annual Homecoming parade. The parade will include entries with a wild jungle theme that will be sure to amuse and entertain. 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. / Men’s Alumni Volleyball Scrimmage, Hyland Arena Court. For the ultimate ’80s experience, That ’80s Band will perform across from the entrance to Hunter Stadium. 12:30 p.m. / Alumni Plaza, Spellmann Center End Zone. Alumni, students, parents, and friends are all welcome. Enjoy desserts and snacks and cheer the Lions on to victory! 1 p.m. / Homecoming Football Game, Hunter Stadium. The Lindenwood Lions will face off against the Emporia State Hornets. The 2017 Homecoming Court will be presented at halftime along with the crowning of the king and queen. 4:30-6 p.m. / Black Alumni Council Reception, Lindenwood House. Please join us for the inaugural Black Alumni Council meeting immediately following the Homecoming Football Game (approximately 4:30-6:00 p.m.). Dr. Michael Shonrock, Lindenwood University system president, and wife Karen will host a wine and cheese reception at the Lindenwood House to celebrate this event.
