Kana Kashizume’s Drastic Improvement in English Communication Through ISF
People often ask me what the best part about being an international student is, and I never have one specific answer: the freedom and independence to live by myself, being immersed in a culture other than my own, and living the dream of studying abroad all make my experience as an international student so unique. But perhaps the part I love the most is meeting people from all over the world. And with approximately 750 international students from over 70 different countries on their campus, Lindenwood could not be a better place to experience such diversity in student body and learning.
Transfer Partnership Signed with Mineral Area College
Lindenwood University has signed a new transfer agreement with Mineral Area College (MAC), welcoming students who complete their studies at MAC to matriculate into Lindenwood University for pursuit of their bachelor’s degree.
How might Lindenwood University position itself as a community leader for diversity, equity, and inclusion? That question, announced Friday by Dr. John Porter, will be the task-at-hand for the 2021 Social Innovation Challenge teams.
Dr. Justine Pas Speaks at Virtual National Conference
On February 6 2021, associate English professor Dr. Justine Pas spoke at a virtual event titled “Personal Perspectives on Race, Privilege and Responsibility” that was part of Alpha Chi’s 2020-2021 Educational Initiative titled “... And Justice for All” Seeking Racial Equality. Dr. Pas was personally invited by Dr. Kathi Vosevich, the Vice President of Alpha Chi’s National Executive Council and dean of Lindenwood’s School of Humanities to speak about her personal experiences.
Dr. Claude Steele to give Keynote for Inaugural Day of Dialogue
Lindenwood University announces Dr. Claude Steele as the keynote speaker for the Day of Dialogue, being held Weds, March 3. The Day of Dialogue is a campus-wide event where students, faculty, and staff can examine their individual and institutional role in building a shared community. This event supports the University’s educational mission by providing a space outside of the classroom to support academic and intellectual inquiry.
Along the historic Main Street of St. Charles sits Sweet Poppins, a gourmet popcorn shop catering to the needs of their neighbors. Behind the delicious kernels is Erica Priest, a Lindenwood University alumna and small-business owner, who is committed to her community in many ways.
Lindenwood Earns 2021-2022 Military Friendly® School Designation
Lindenwood University announced it has earned the 2021-2022 Military Friendly School designation. Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Over 1,200 schools participated in the 2021-2022 survey with 747 earning the designation.
Lindenwood University will host the Spring 2021 Virtual Career and Internship Fair on Feb. 25 from 12-5 p.m. The event is free to attend and is open to all Lindenwood students and alumni. All participants should register on Handshake in advance of the event.
