Students and employees joined residents of Cedarhurst Senior Living of St. Charles for an annual celebration of love and friendship. Hosted by LindenGiving, the University’s community outreach endeavor, the event brought great joy to all in its fourth year.
In preparation for the event, Lindenwood students created more than 200 cards filled with messages of joy and love. The cards were distributed to residents, along with sweet treats and Valentine’s trinkets. The event at Cedarhurst offered an opportunity for meaningful connection between Cedarhurst residents and the Lindenwood campus community.
“Everyone wants to be loved, cared for, and seen,” LindenGiving Chair and Lindenwood University First Lady Beverly Porter said. “LindenGiving desires to demonstrate these ideals to Cedarhurst’s residents this Valentine’s Day through the making of cards, the giving of treats and gifts, and the sharing of time by students, faculty, and staff. Simply put we want to show love by Lifting Others and Valuing Everyone.”
LindenGiving events, like the Valentine party at Cedarhurst, provide a way for students and employees to live out the institutional value of thriving together.
