Lindenwood University has named Mindy Spencer its next Senior Vice President for Advancement. With more than 20 years of experience across educational philanthropy and alumni engagement, Spencer joins the Lindenwood community and will expand the University’s commitment to fundraising and alumni connections.

“Mindy Spencer brings the right combination of strategic leadership and a thorough understanding of the evolving needs of development and fundraising to Lindenwood University,” President Dr. John R. Porter said. “Her proven track record in building out advancement operations and establishing comprehensive programming makes her an excellent addition to our leadership team. We are thrilled to welcome her to Lindenwood.”

Spencer joins Lindenwood from fellow Ohio Valley Conference institution, Eastern Illinois University, where she served as Vice President for University Advancement. Prior to EIU, she was the Senior Director and Chief Advancement Officer at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Throughout her career, Spencer has built and led high-performing teams, managed data-driven projects, and expanded strategic advancement initiatives.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Lindenwood University team! Lindenwood’s focus on innovation and growth, and well as its commitment to all learners, resonates deeply with me,” Spencer said. “The opportunity to partner with alumni, corporations, foundations, and friends to build upon the institution’s incredible momentum through transformational philanthropic support is immense. I am energized to work alongside Dr. Porter, the Advancement team, and Lindenwood colleagues to turn this momentum into the catalyst to scale Lindenwood’s impact as a premier, innovative institution.”

Spencer completed her education at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she earned an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in environmental economics. She will join the Lindenwood community starting April 6.
