Nursing Program Director Dr. Meridith Vogeler has been appointed to the Missouri State Board of Nursing, a state body responsible for protecting public health and regulating nursing education and practice.
At Lindenwood, Vogeler provides leadership for the University’s nursing program and serves as the chair of the Nursing Faculty Academic Council. She plays a key role in preparing the next generation of nursing professionals through academic leadership and curriculum development.
Before joining Lindenwood, Vogeler worked as an emergency room nurse for SSM Health and served as an instructor at St. Charles Community College. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing, a master’s in nursing education from Northeast Missouri State University, and a Doctor of Nursing Education from Arkansas State University.
The Missouri State Board of Nursing serves the mission “to protect the public’s health and safety through regulation of nursing education, licensure, and practice.” Board members are tasked with ensuring that nurses comply with state regulations while maintaining safe and effective practice. These members also examine license applications of graduate nurses and help establish policies that guide nursing education across the state.
Vogeler’s appointment reflects Lindenwood’s growing role in preparing healthcare professionals across the state. Its first year, the nursing program is already establishing strong roots and ensuring students learn from professionals, like Vogeler, who are shaping the future of healthcare.
