Lindenwood University has been named a 2026-27 Equity and Inclusion College of Distinction. The honor reflects Lindenwood’s support for students from recruitment through graduation. Lindenwood’s selection is the result of a thorough analysis that considers institutional strategies and day-to-day student experience.

At Lindenwood, the Center for Campus Community and Connection serves as a resource that helps create a welcoming, affirming, and supportive campus environment. Director Keela Ross said the Center’s student-centric approach guides its work. “Throughout this academic year, The Center for Campus Community and Connection has remained focused on putting students first by creating a space where they can find support, build relationships, access resources, and grow into the leaders they are called to be,” Ross said.

The recognition followed a review of criteria Colleges of Distinction uses to evaluate student support and campus experience, including:

  • Access and Enrollment: Intentional recruitment and admissions practices expand opportunities for first-generation, low-income, and historically underrepresented students.
  • Retention and Completion Support: Proactive academic advising, early alert systems, and targeted interventions support student persistence.
  • Inclusive Campus Culture: Campus environment where students of all backgrounds experience genuine belonging and are empowered to contribute to campus life.
  • Culturally Responsive Resources: Dedicated centers, affinity organizations, and support staff to reflect and serve the diversity of the student body.
