The College of Education and Human Services is pleased to welcome Dr. Ethan Potter as an assistant professor of social work. A licensed clinical social worker with a deep passion for student development, Potter brings extensive expertise in clinical practice, supervision, and practitioner well-being.
Originally from Ava, Missouri, Potter holds a Doctor of Social Work from Capella University, a Master of Social Work, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Missouri State University.
“Lindenwood’s student-centered mission and commitment to real-world learning really stood out to me,” Potter said. “I became a professor to support the next generation of social workers in developing strong ethics, cultural humility, and confidence in their social work voices. I’m especially passionate about helping students explore how identity, systems, and clinical practice intersect—and guiding them as they grow into thoughtful, compassionate professionals.”
