Roaring Return - Fall 2020 Semester Underway

Lindenwood University’s Roaring Return to campus is underway and welcomes back students for the fall 2020 semester. Joining the Lindenwood community are 1,070 new students including traditional freshmen and transfer, international, and online students.

The university received 5,486 applications for admission for the fall 2020 semester and new student enrollment is up four percent over last year. Terry Whittum, senior vice president for enrollment management and student engagement, said the new student group is 56 percent female and 43 percent male.

The top majors indicated by new students include elementary education, exercise science, political science, criminology and criminal justice, psychology, biological sciences, and business administration. Domestic students hail from 37 different states with Missouri, Illinois, California, Texas, and Tennessee rounding out the top five. Lindenwood also welcomes 63 new international students for fall 2020.

Lindenwood University has been proactive in preparing for the fall and is offering a majority of courses in a hybrid format, allowing for a highly flexible learning environment that involves both in-person and virtual courses. Lindenwood has elected to offer lecture courses in a virtual format for the first two weeks of the semester, giving students the opportunity to acclimate to new campus policies and become familiar with hybrid course delivery. All students, faculty, staff, and visitors are required to wear a mask or face covering while on campus, in addition to promoting physical distancing and positive public health behaviors.
