Three Lindenwood University students have been named recipients of the inaugural Susan Sherman Fashion Scholarship, presented by the Saint Louis Fashion Fund. The scholarship, named after the Fund’s co-founder and board chair, recognizes Missouri residents studying fashion at Missouri colleges and universities with accredited programs.
Among the group of selected recipients were Lindenwood students Constance Anthony, Shelby Schmutzler, and Bridget Stevenson. Each will receive a $5,000 award to support their studies.
The scholarships were announced at the Fashion Fund’s Fashion Futures Sendoff, held at Neiman Marcus in partnership with Caleres. The event brought together about 100 students, parents, and industry leaders. It gave aspiring designers the chance to connect with professionals who can help shape their career pathways.
For the recipients, the recognition carries both financial support and motivation. “It’s truly an honor to receive this inaugural Susan Sherman Fashion Scholarship alongside my fellow recipients,” Anthony said. “Not only does it help me financially with my schooling, but it encourages me to progress forward in my career in the fashion industry.”
Susan Sherman praised the quality of applications and highlighted the Fund’s commitment to supporting local talent. “We received a remarkable number of impressive applications this year and we thank every single student who took the time to apply and share their story, passion and creativity with us," said Sherman.
The Susan Sherman Fashion Scholarship recognizes the achievements of Lindenwood students and the strength of the University’s fashion program. By supporting emerging designers through opportunities like this, Lindenwood continues to prepare graduates to thrive in the fashion industry.
