Academic Classification of Students Policy

Academic Classification of Students Policy

Purpose

This policy outlines progress requirements for an undergraduate student to be classified as a sophomore, junior, senior, and completer.

Scope

This policy applies to all credit-bearing academic programming at Lindenwood.

Policy

Academic progress is calculated in credit hours.

To be classified as a sophomore, a student must have successfully completed at least 24 credit hours.

To be classified as a junior, a student must have successfully completed at least 54 credit hours.

To be classified as a senior, the student must have successfully completed at least 84 credit hours.

The classification of a student is changed only at the end of a term.

A minimum of 120 credit hours (not including courses completed at the preparatory or pre-college level, numbered 01000-09999) is necessary to complete a bachelor’s degree.
