Course Description

This course will explore the poetry and poetics leading up to the 20th Century which form the foundation of present-day poetic schools, modes, and styles. The course will include reading, analysis, and discussion of poems by Shakespeare, Donne, Marvell, Blake, Wordsworth, Shelley, Keats, Barrett Browning, Browning, Arnold, Dickinson, Yeats, Frost, Eliot, and Thomas.
