The College of Arts and Humanities focuses on YOU as a human being, and the Department of English, Language, and Interdisciplinary Studies will provide you the tools to build meaningful relationships and communicate your story to your future colleagues, students, readers, or clients.
In all of our programs, you will learn to communicate effectively: Argue your points, defend your positions, express your views and sensitivity, talk to others in their register, or in their language! Why not? In the Department of English, Language, and Interdisciplinary Studies, you will develop the skills of effective communication in written and oral forms; analysis; synthesis, and empathy, among many others.
- The English (BA) program will provide you the skills to apply your acquired breadth of knowledge to any career post-graduation, while cultivating your passion for literature and writing.
- The Interdisciplinary Studies (BA) program will offer you the ultimate flexible experience, in which you can customize your concentration areas from disciplines across the College of Arts and Humanities and Lindenwood University as a whole, and choose between available class formats. This program is also offered online.
- If you’re excited about other cultures, you can check out the Spanish Minor and its various degree opportunities, which include applied experiences domestically and abroad.
Our programs will also provide the foundational support to help you succeed in your collegiate experience, regardless of your major, whether English is your first language or not. Welcome to the Department of English, Language, and Interdisciplinary Studies!
