Lindenwood University Background
Lindenwood University was founded in 1832 by George Champlin Sibley and Mary Easton Sibley, making it the second-oldest higher education institution west of the Mississippi River. What began as the Lindenwood School for Girls has grown into a comprehensive, coeducational university offering more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, minors, and certificates.
