Lindenwood senior Emily Worthmore was presented with the Easton Award at the spring Honors Convocation ceremony. Named in honor of university founder Mary Easton Sibley, the award recognizes a senior who demonstrates academic achievement through rigorous coursework and meaningful involvement beyond the classroom.
A communications major with an emphasis in broadcast and media production, Worthmore plans to graduate this spring with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Worthmore is a member of the Honors Academy who also serves as vice president of the Lindenwood Student Government. In this role, she works across departments to represent fellow students.
Since arriving at Lindenwood, Worthmore has held several roles at KCLC, the University’s radio station. Worthmore’s broadcast experience also extends beyond campus. She has held internships with St. Louis station KMOV and Fox News in New York City.
As a high school senior, Worthmore was a focal point in a documentary covering the American Legion Auxiliary Missouri Girls State leadership program hosted at Lindenwood. The documentary “Girls State” was released in 2024, and Worthmore was invited to attend the Emmy Awards where the documentary won three Emmys.
While presenting the award, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Kathi Vosevich highlighted Worthmore’s impact on the Lindenwood community. “She exemplifies fellowship through the relationships she builds, and she reflects Lindenwood’s commitment to service through her willingness to contribute her time and talents,” Vosevich said. “Emily fully embodies the qualities the Easton Award was created to honor and is truly deserving of this recognition.”
By seeking challenges inside and outside of the classroom, Worthmore has shown the value of experiential learning. Worthmore has applied her Honors coursework across University, local, and national media while maintaining a perfect GPA. Her work reflects both the Easton Award and Lindenwood’s commitment to support students in reaching their goals through real experience.
