Lindenwood Early Close Today (12/1) – Classes After 1 p.m. Held Virtually

Due to inclement weather and potentially hazardous road conditions, the Lindenwood University campus is closing at 1 p.m. today, December 1. Employees and students are encouraged to use extreme caution when traveling. Essential Employees should contact their supervisor for their on-campus schedule. We thank you in advance for your service. 

In-person classes starting at 1 p.m. or later today will be held virtually or will have learning activities that can be completed remotely. Students enrolled in classes that are online, hyflex, or hybrid should check Canvas and email for information from their professor, since many of these learning activities will continue virtually. Faculty should provide information regarding changes to class assignments and deadlines. Students should check Canvas and email for communication from their instructors.  

Faculty and staff are advised to take their laptops and work materials home with them in case of continuing bad weather. 

In-person campus activities starting at 1 p.m. or later are canceled, unless otherwise communicated by university administrators. Virtual events may continue as planned. Any change in dining service hours can be found on Lion’s Dining homepage or the Lion’s Dining Services social media accounts.

Family, Football, and Fireworks this Saturday

Lindenwood University will host its annual Family Day on Saturday, September 17. An opportunity for all supporters and families to visit their students, Family Day offers a complete schedule of programming that includes the first home football game of the season and ends with a fireworks show that is sure to delight.

“Family Day is a wonderful opportunity for the University to meet some of the most influential people in our student’s lives – their loved ones,” President John Porter said. “Our employees are eager to connect with the fantastic supporters who cheer on our students through the pursuit of their Lindenwood degree, and the Student Involvement team has planned a great day of activities.”

Saturday’s schedule begins at 10:30 a.m. with the Business / Departmental Expo where families can meet local businesses and campus departments. Also starting at 10:30 a.m. is the Honors Reception in McCluer Hall, where students from the Honors Academy and their families can meet with faculty and connect over refreshments.

The Library and Academic Resources Center will host an open house from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. during which families and friends can meet with the Center for Engaged Learning, First-Year Programs, and Student Advising and Support Services.

Lion’s Corner provides enjoyment in the afternoon from 1:30 – 3 p.m., complete with free popcorn, giveaways, a bounce house, and more. Leo the Lion will make an appearance for photos, too!

Follow Leo from Lion’s Corner to the Lion Pride Tailgate, which features local vendors, tailgate fare, and great pre-game entertainment. The football game kicks off at 6 p.m. in Harlen C. Hunter Stadium, as the Lions take on Keiser University. Cheer the Lions on to victory, and enjoy fireworks show at the conclusion of the game.
