Family, Football, and Fireworks this Saturday

Lindenwood University will host its annual Family Day on Saturday, September 17. An opportunity for all supporters and families to visit their students, Family Day offers a complete schedule of programming that includes the first home football game of the season and ends with a fireworks show that is sure to delight.

“Family Day is a wonderful opportunity for the University to meet some of the most influential people in our student’s lives – their loved ones,” President John Porter said. “Our employees are eager to connect with the fantastic supporters who cheer on our students through the pursuit of their Lindenwood degree, and the Student Involvement team has planned a great day of activities.”

Saturday’s schedule begins at 10:30 a.m. with the Business / Departmental Expo where families can meet local businesses and campus departments. Also starting at 10:30 a.m. is the Honors Reception in McCluer Hall, where students from the Honors Academy and their families can meet with faculty and connect over refreshments.

The Library and Academic Resources Center will host an open house from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. during which families and friends can meet with the Center for Engaged Learning, First-Year Programs, and Student Advising and Support Services.

Lion’s Corner provides enjoyment in the afternoon from 1:30 – 3 p.m., complete with free popcorn, giveaways, a bounce house, and more. Leo the Lion will make an appearance for photos, too!

Follow Leo from Lion’s Corner to the Lion Pride Tailgate, which features local vendors, tailgate fare, and great pre-game entertainment. The football game kicks off at 6 p.m. in Harlen C. Hunter Stadium, as the Lions take on Keiser University. Cheer the Lions on to victory, and enjoy fireworks show at the conclusion of the game.
