LindenGiving Receives Volunteer of the Year Award from Boys & Girls Clubs

Lindenwood University’s community outreach endeavor, LindenGiving, received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County for its part in a back-to-school event. The award was presented during the 59th Boys & Girls Club of St. Charles County’s Gala at the Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa on Saturday, February 10.

Established in 2020, LindenGiving is a community outreach endeavor focused on serving the most essential needs of the St. Charles community.

For the last two years with the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County, Lindenwood students, faculty, and staff volunteered their time to stuff backpacks full of school supplies for elementary, middle, and high school students.

“LindenGiving is so humbled and honored to receive the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles,” LindenGiving chair Beverly Porter said.

“This is one of my favorite events as it directly ties into Lindenwood's desire for a great education, and it also helps level the playing field for students as they begin their new academic year.”

The award is a testament to Lindenwood faculty, staff, and student’s commitment to making an impact by providing necessary educational materials to those in need.

“School can have so many challenges for students, of which many we cannot help with or control, but we can support families by arming their students with the proper tools for the start of the school year and giving them new, quality backpacks and needed school supplies,” Porter said.
