Lindenwood University’s College of Education and Human Services has been selected as one of five Educator Preparation Programs in Missouri to participate in the inaugural Partnerships for Quality Mentoring Community of Practice.
The statewide initiative, led by Education First in partnership with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, focuses on strengthening mentoring and clinical experiences for teacher candidates across Missouri. Through this program, Lindenwood will work with state leaders to identify and implement innovative mentoring practices. The initiative builds on statewide research highlighting partnerships as key factors in improving teacher readiness and retention.
The University will collaborate with partner districts to develop and pilot strategies that enhance mentoring for teacher candidates. This work will use feedback and coaching structures to create models for preparation and support.
Associate Professors Dr. Amanda Aldridge and Dr. Alex Tripamer led Lindenwood’s application efforts. They also worked to secure partnerships with the St. Charles School District and Orchard Farm School District. These collaborations strengthen the University’s ties to the community. Their work ensures that Lindenwood and its partners foster a mutually beneficial environment for educator success.
Lindenwood’s involvement in the program affirms the University’s commitment to developing teachers who are well prepared, confident, and ready to meet the needs of today’s classrooms.
