Lindenwood University has been named a 2026-27 College of Distinction for Career Development as the University introduces its new Office of Careers, Internships, and Achievement. The recognition is a result of Lindenwood’s work to connect academic preparation with career readiness throughout the student experience.
Colleges of Distinction recognized Lindenwood for making career readiness part of the full student experience. The organization noted that strong career development programs introduce students to career resources early and continue that support through graduation. “The schools that do career development well don’t wait for students to come to them,” Colleges of Distinction Chief Operating Officer Tyson Schritter said. “Lindenwood meets students where they are early, consistently, and across every field of study.”
The recognition also reflects Lindenwood’s focus on helping students connect classroom learning with real-world opportunities. The ongoing support offered by the University ensures Lindenwood students are prepared to enter the workforce with confidence.
The Office of Careers, Internships, and Achievement expands the University’s commitment to its mission: enhancing lives through quality education and professional preparatory experiences. The office is centrally located on the second floor of the Library and Academic Resources Center 229-A. There, it serves as a central resource for all Lindenwood students.
“The Office of Careers, Internships, and Achievement brings Lindenwood’s mission of ‘Real Experience. Real Success’ to life by connecting students with career development, internships, study abroad, and service-learning opportunities,” Director Sara VonBokel said. “Through these hands-on experiences, students gain the skills, confidence, and perspective needed to succeed beyond the classroom and make meaningful contributions in their careers and communities.” Because of the many resources available, the CIA supports Lindenwood students at each stage of their academic journey.
Together, the Career Development College of Distinction honor and launch of the C.I.A. highlight Lindenwood’s continued investment in student success. By helping students identify opportunities and prepare for their next steps, the C.I.A. supports Lindenwood’s commitment to career readiness through experiential offerings.
