Lindenwood University and Southwestern Illinois College have signed an agreement formalizing transfer pathways for students seeking to complete their four-year degree at Lindenwood. Beginning in the 2026-27 academic year, the program is available to SWIC students upon completion of their associate degree.

The agreement provides students with access to competitive merit scholarships at Lindenwood based on academic performance, making it more affordable to complete a bachelor’s degree. By offering this program to students who have finished their associate degree, the partnership helps maximize cost savings while supporting long-term academic success.

“The partnership creates a clear and intentional connection between our institutions,” said Lindenwood’s Strategic Partnerships Manager Donnie Wieland. “It ensures students have a defined pathway to continue their education while keeping cost and accessibility at the forefront.”

Faculty and academic teams from both institutions will continue working together to ensure smooth transitions between programs. SWIC will also promote the partnership to prospective students, helping position Lindenwood as a leading destination for transfer students.

The agreement is a part of Lindenwood’s broader effort to expand transfer opportunities and strengthen relationships with community colleges. By creating consistency across partnerships, the University aims to establish best practices that improve the transition from two-year to four-year institutions.

“This partnership creates clarity and focus around what matters most to students,” Wieland said. “We want Lindenwood to be top of mind for students looking to take the next step in their education.”
