Strong Enrollment Drives Lindenwood's Future

Lindenwood University begins the Fall 2021 semester on Monday, August 23 with excitement and optimism. The University welcomes 1,183 new students, a 12% increase over last year and the largest new student class since 2014. The 1,183 students join a thriving community of traditional freshmen, transfer, international, and online students.

“We are thrilled to welcome an outstanding group of new students to Lindenwood,” Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Engagement Terry Whittum said. “This is a direct result of our Drive the Pride initiative, which engaged our entire campus to achieve this enrollment success. Our faculty contributed countless hours meeting with prospective students and sharing what makes a Lindenwood education uniquely different.”

Academically, the students enrolling at Lindenwood bring proven success with impressive credentials. The top majors for new students are business administration, exercise science, psychology, biological sciences, computer science, and criminology and criminal justice. Each student at Lindenwood engages in a vibrant curriculum of general education courses and specialized courses in their area of interest.

Move In Day - Fall 2021Lindenwood continues its commitment to diversity with 105 new international students from 30 countries joining the campus community. Countries represented include South Africa, Canada, Spain, United Kingdom, and Venezuela. Domestically, Lindenwood is seeing the largest enrollments from Missouri, Illinois, Texas, California, Kansas, and Ohio.

The University received nearly 5,500 applications in an unprecedented recruitment year, led by a team of dedicated admissions and enrollment management staff. Throughout the cycle, Lindenwood offered safe in-person campus tours and virtual visit options to accommodate the needs of prospective students.

In the 2021-22 academic year, Lindenwood will offer more fully on-ground classes, host student and touring events at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts, welcome an increased new student residential population, and host the brand new Lion Pride Tailgate for all home football games.
