“The Spinners” Kick Off 2023-24 Scheidegger Touring Series

One of the most iconic R&B musical groups in the industry, The Spinners, will open the 2023-24 season at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts on Friday, October 6, at 8 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased through the LU Box Office.

The Spinners are the first of seven events included in the 2023-24 Scheidegger Touring Series.

The group defined the smooth sound of “Philly Soul,” channeling the highs and lows of romance and heartbreak into a catalog of classic hits, including “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling In Love,” “Then Came You,” “The Rubberband Man,” and “Working My Way Back To You.”

With a legacy spanning more than six decades, including six Grammy nominations, 18 Platinum and Gold albums, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and selling millions of records worldwide, The Spinners have never lost their universal appeal. They returned with their first all-new original album, “Round the Block and Back Again,” which was released August 27, 2021. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.

Lindenwood Director of Theater Operations Kathleen Eads is thrilled for the first performance of the 2023-24 Scheidegger Touring Series.

“We are very excited to have The Spinners kicking off the season,” Eads said. “Fresh off their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it'll be a wonderful evening of so many recognizable songs, people will be wowed.”

A fan-favorite drawing large crowds to sold-out performances both at home and abroad, The Spinners have left a considerable impact not only on music history, but on the hearts of millions of fans worldwide.

By hosting The Spinners, Eads said the touring series continues to gain momentum for future events at the Scheidegger Center.

“The touring series continues to grow,” Eads said. “And we are so thrilled to be serving our community with professional, artistic, and fun entertainment for all.”
