Participating in Lindenwood University’s Early College Academy is a cost-effective way to earn college credit and helps foster a smooth transition to college. There are two ways to earn college credit at Lindenwood: Concurrent Enrollment and Early College Credit.
- Concurrent Enrollment (also known as Dual Enrollment): Students take a college course taught by a Lindenwood professor either on campus or online. Students that successfully pass the class are awarded both high school and college credit if your high school has an agreement on file with Lindenwood.
- Early College Credit: Students take a college course taught by a Lindenwood professor. Students that successfully pass the class are awarded college credit only.
Student Eligibility
Concurrent Enrollment / Early College is only offered to high school Juniors and Seniors.
Juniors and Seniors with an overall minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) are encouraged to enroll.
Juniors and Seniors who have between a 2.5-2.99 overall minimum grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) may also be approved to enroll with signed letters of recommendation from the high school’s counselor or principal and student’s parent/guardian.
Cost
- Concurrent Enrollment / Early College Credit: $105.00 per credit hour
Tuition and/or fees paid for enrollment in the Early College Academy Program are non-refundable.
The student may review the course schedule and decide what class he or she is interested in taking for the semester. Students are eligible to take most "100" level classes and some "200" level classes.
Counselors will help the student identify what classes might be best for the student at the time.
