Emergent Digital Practices is a pathway in Interdisciplinary Studies designed to be personalized specifically by students interested in diverse technologies, their artistic expression, and human applications. The emphasis draws upon knowledge and expertise from various programs, including Art and Design, Gaming, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, English, as well as Philosophy and Religion. The skills developed through this flexible and customizable framework allow Interdisciplinary Studies majors to choose three cohesive themes. An IS degree with the Emergent Digital Practices emphasis expands students’ engagements with the intersections between arts and technology, increases their creativity, and ensures a broad career pathway in several fields, such as game and product design, software development, and Artificial Intelligence, among others.
