President's Council

Purpose

The Lindenwood University President’s Council (LUPC) serves as a sounding board for Lindenwood University’s leadership and is comprised of professionals, alumni, and community leaders. Each member serves as a public-facing resource for all aspects of the University and assists with philanthropic and social contributions.

The Council is primarily focused on the University’s strategic engagement initiative, Destination Lindenwood, supporting a college town feel and experience. The Council is a non-governance group with no official decision-making authority.

Composition

The Council is comprised of key volunteers and University leadership. It includes the University President, Council Chair(s), and the Vice President for Advancement and Community Engagement. In addition, the Council will include at-large members and members representing the President’s Cabinet, Lindenwood academic colleges, and other statewide, national, and international constituencies.

  • Council members are asked to commit to a three-year term that can be renewable for a second three-year term.
  • Council members serve in a volunteer capacity.
  • Council members are appointed to chair sub-committees such as Community Relations, University Communications and Marketing, University Finance, Strategic Planning, and others as deemed appropriate by the Council Chair(s), and the University President.
  • The Council is hyper-focused on civic engagement for philanthropic and community partnerships for the University.
  • Governance and operations of the University are not areas of Lindenwood where the Council provides support or insight.
  • The Council meets quarterly. Conference calls supplement scheduled meetings.
  • The Executive Assistant to the President serves as the Council’s lead support, assisted by the Administrative Assistant, Office of the President who serves as the Council lead back-up. The President may appoint other staff as appropriate.
