Lindenwood University athletic training students are gaining professional experience through regional conference attendance. In March, students attended the Missouri Athletic Trainers’ Association Educators and Student Leadership Conference, and the Mid-America Athletic Trainers’ Association conference. At both conferences, students networked with industry leaders and participated in educational sessions\ that allowed them to apply their knowledge in a professional setting.
Both events offered students the opportunity to learn from professionals who practice and research across the field. Topics discussed included career pathways, clinical approaches, and emerging trends and research in the industry.
In addition to educational sessions, Lindenwood students Abby Rickerman, Lauren Lehman, Ajdin Tasic, and Jacob Rolfes took part in Quiz Bowl competitions at both conferences. The group earned a first-place finish at the state level event to advance to the regional competition, where they placed fourth among nine teams.
The conferences provided valuable networking opportunities for students to engage with industry leaders while applying their knowledge. This experience provides a direct entry point into the industry and insight into current practices and trends. Through their performance in the Quiz Bowl competitions, the students displayed a level of knowledge that places them among the top in the region.
