Lindenwood University is pleased to offer grants and scholarships to incoming first-year students, transfer students, as well as our continuing students.  These opportunities support Lindenwood’s mission while also distinguishing student achievement. 

ACADEMIC MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

Lindenwood’s academic merit scholarships are awarded at time of admission and are based on a holistic review of a student’s academic profile.  All first-year and transfer applicants admitted to the University will be reviewed for an academic merit award at time of admission. Academic merit is renewable for students who remain in good academic standing.

SIBLEY SCHOLARSHIP

The Sibley Scholarship is Lindenwood’s premier scholarship for exemplary student leaders. This competitive scholarship recognizes students who exhibit high academic achievement, community service, co-curricular involvement and leadership. Learn more about the Sibley Scholarship.

INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP

Lindenwood’s Inclusive Leadership Scholarship recognizes and supports students in making a successful transition into their undergraduate journey. Recipients of this scholarship will participate in the PILLAR Program (Promoting Inclusive Learning Leadership and Retention), which has a 4-year curriculum and is executed by the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Learn more about the Inclusive Leadership Scholarship.

NEED-BASED GRANTS

Lindenwood University is committed to helping students with high financial need. In order to be considered, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be on file with the University. Upon receipt of the completed FAFSA, applicants will be assessed for need by our Student Financial Services office.

LEGACY GRANT

Lindenwood University Legacy Grant encourages a family tradition of enrollment and recognizes those traditions through this grant.  Eligibility is dependent on at least one direct lineage to a parent, grandparent or legal guardian who graduated from Lindenwood. 

SIBLING GRANT

Lindenwood University Sibling Grant provides additional financial support to families with more than one child enrolled at Lindenwood University simultaneously. Eligibility will be assessed each academic year.

FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS GRANT

Students participating in performance groups on campus may be eligible for Fine and Performing Arts Grants.

NCAA SCHOLARSHIPS

Lindenwood University is a member of the NCAA Division I. Scholarships are available and may be awarded to students participating in one of our NCAA sports at the discretion of our athletic coaches.

STUDENT LIFE SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS

Students competing in Student Life Sports are eligible for athletic scholarships at the discretion of our athletic coaches.

PHI THETA KAPPA

Lindenwood is proud to honor members of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) international honor society of two-year colleges. Transfer students who have joined PTK are eligible to receive a $1,000 stackable scholarship as a full-time student.

Lindenwood University Scholarships

Lindenwood University has a number of scholarships funded by donations from individuals and organizations who support the university. Eligibility criteria for each scholarship is determined by the donor and can include demonstrated academic merit, financial need, particular demographic, or geographic backgrounds, a particular academic focus and/or participation in an extracurricular activity.

Missouri Boys State and Missouri Girls State Scholarship

MBS and MGS citizens who earn college credit will qualify for a $1,000 annual scholarship ($500 per Fall/Spring semester, renewable for up to 8 semesters) if admitted to Lindenwood University for their freshman year. For scholarship renewal, students must maintain a minimum, cumulative GPA of 2.0 and reside in on-campus housing. Scholarship renewal eligibility will be reviewed at the end of each academic year. This scholarship can be stacked on top of additional merit awards.

Outside Scholarships

Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation’s Access EXTRA Scholarship

The Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation’s Access EXTRA Scholarship is a private scholarship for high school seniors who are eligible for the Access Missouri Financial Assistance Program and have earned a 3.50 GPA at a Missouri high school. Applicants must:

  • Enroll as a full-time student
  • Be a Missouri resident and high school graduate
  • Have earned a 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent on another scale) cumulative weighted or unweighted GPA through at least seven semesters
  • Meet eligibility requirements for the Access Missouri Grant (including an EFC of $12,000 or less)

Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation's Purdy Emerging Leaders Scholarship

The Purdy Emerging Leaders Scholarship provides merit-based scholarships to emerging leaders who are outstanding students with financial need. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of academic performance, leadership potential, and character. Selected students will be those who have a vision, are eager to make their contribution to the world, and have the work ethic to bring their dreams to fruition. Applicants must:

  • Be a Missouri resident
  • Be a full-time undergraduate Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
  • Demonstrate need as determined by the FAFSA

Fellowships

Lindenwood University participates in the Fulbright U.S. Student Program which awards grants to English teaching assistants as well as the Boren Awards program which provides grants and fellowships to students who want to learn a less commonly taught foreign language.

Spectrum Scholars

Charter Communication Operating, LLC has established Spectrum Scholars, an educational program for eligible rising juniors with financial need who identify as Asian/Pacific Islander, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino or Native American.

Applicants must reside within 50 miles of St. Louis, MO, for either school or permanent residency.
