- More than 80% of employers are looking for excellent writing skills and they will be impressed with the level of polish and control a Creative Writing Minor has with language and complex thought.
- Small classes with real opportunity for one-on-one interaction with the instructor and workshopping writing with peers to enhance your communication, critical thinking, and creative skills.
- You will be able to get engaged with student life with a Creative Writing Minor because there are several opportunities to participate beyond classwork, such as the Creative Writing Club, or Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society.

- This minor is the perfect addition to any major, in any discipline.
- You will be able to take a wide range of courses outside of creative writing as well, such as literature, technical writing, and the teaching of writing.
REAL EXPERIENCE, REAL SUCCESS:
- You can gain real experience working on the student-run literary journal Arrow Rock. You can both publish and be part of the editorial board!
- Students who excel in creative writing projects may want to participate in the annual Lindenwood Showcase and apply for several writing awards. Check out the English Student Life page for more information on all the ways a Creative Writing Minor can get you engaged!
- A Creative Writing Minor can also serve as a building block toward a Creative Writing MFA, which is a graduate-level program focused on honing your writing skills for publication and various career fields.
